More than 100 gathered at the Toronto Airport Marriott this past Saturday evening to celebrate the spirit of the holidays. AICC Canada’s 14th annual Christmas Party brought together AICC members for dinner, dancing, casino games and fun.
AICC Canada President Stephen Moore (Moore Packaging) opened up the evening with a heart felt tribute to outgoing AICC Canada Executive Director Jana Marmei. Jana, after seventeen years of service to AICC Canada members has decided to step back to pursue other opportunities. Jana shared warm remarks with the crowd, reflecting on the wonderful people that she has met in the industry. Jana’s successor as Executive Director, Renee Annis was also on hand. Her remarks to the group showed her enthusiasm for doing great things with AICC Canada.
AICC “International” Chairman Jay Carman (Standfast Packaging) and his wife Terry were in town for the event. Jay shared grace and a toast prior to dinner being served.
Frank Fortunato of Flint Inks served as the emcee for the evening, a role he has now handled
capably for several years. Frank introduced the special guest for the evening, an Elvis Presley look alike who had a voice that was a match for “The King.” Elvis worked his magic and many in the crowd swooned with delight.
After Elvis had indeed left the building, dancing continued while black-jack and roulette tables started to attract the less rhythmic in attendance, all with AICC-provided funny money.
Prizes were given out throughout the evening ranging from bottles of wine to two big screen televisions.
